A couple of weeks ago, the Yaminions.com blog was contacted to participate in a roundtable luncheon interview with Elliott and other celebrity, health and diabetes bloggers in the New York City area. When PoorMe and Laclos contacted me to be the Yaminions representative, I jumped at the chance. How often does the opportunity come around to interview Elliott?

When the big day arrived and I entered the lobby of the building where the roundtable luncheon would take place, a ripple of excitement passed through me when saw a sign welcoming Elliott Yamin and Bloggers!

Care Like Yamin It. That's what is inscribed on the ubiquitous green bracelet that people have been seeing Elliott wearing since after his American Idol days.



Elliott's very first green bracelet was made by Jen250, who gave it to him personally when he guested at the Regis & Kelly show in New York shortly after he left the show. She had been selling them online while he was on the show, with part of the proceeds going to the JDRF. If you have been following the recaps and stories posted here at the Y-Pod, you'll know we recently found out from eo that Elliott wants a new green bracelet.

Royal Misfit's LeashFour reports that she had a great time watching Elliott in concert last Sunday (May 20) in Sayreville, New Jersey. What's more, she got a chance to meet Elliott afterwards. This is her story:

Okay guys, Saturday was the best night of my life (besides my wedding, of course).

I went to see Elliott in Sayreville, NJ and he was just beyond awesome. I really felt like he let loose. He's turned into quite the performer. Even my DH (who likes him to begin with) said, "Wow, he's so talented it's unreal." It amazes me that he actually sounds the same live as he does on the album - actually, he sounds even better. These days, there are very few artists you can say that about. Elliott even made me like Alright, which was never one of my favorites.

So we've seen the pics from Elliott's visit to Hartford's KISS 95.7. But as of this writing, no podcast has yet been posted. Those of us who had not been able to listen in have been wondering, what ever did happen during that interview and performance? Luckily for us, ey-fan of the Moosak Sistahs, who won a Meet Elliott contest at the station (she was Caller # 20), has graciously agreed to share her experience with us. Our fellow RM cdd81 was there at Boston's Mix 98.5 and got to meet Elliott. This is her account which she posted in the RM Elliott thread. (Note: The new cap in question is not the one above, obviously. Ehehe. Read on and you'll see it.)

So today was one of the best days I've had in a very long time! I was up at the crack of dawn to head over to Mix 98.5. I got there while Elliott was performing "Wait For You." He sounded *excellent.* I love that he changes the song slightly with each performance. He sounded so confident singing the song. His guitarist (Russell?) sounded wonderful as well.

While Elliott was interviewing, he said he had stayed in Medford the night before...the city I live in! There is only 1 hotel in the city so Elliott was probably about a 10 minute walk from my house! Had I only known. Wink He also ate at "Not Your Average Joes," which is another restaurant I frequent. Damn AI for being on last night or I might have been out! I could have been drinking a beer with Elliott...lol.
